Biofilters
The fundamental principle of biological control of air pollution is that gaseous pollutants are used by microbes as a source of food, so after they are consumed, they are transformed into harmless end-products of metabolism (CO2, H2O)
Biofilters mainly eliminate soluble organic compounds such as alcohols, aldehydes and ketones, as well as a wide variety of odorous gases such as hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, organic sulfur compounds, etc.
Advantages
Compared to other deodorant systems, biofiltershave lower operating costs and low or no chemical use.
Although they require a large surface operation area, they can be designed in any shape to suit the conditions of the available installation space.
Different filler materials and bacteria can be used so that the biofilter can efficiently neutralize a wide variety of different substances.
